About the press

L ong Barn Books is an independent publisher devoted to literary fiction, poetry, and curious nonfiction—work with the atmosphere of an old English bookshop and the editorial discipline of a modern press. We build small lists on purpose, choosing manuscripts that reward rereading: voice-forward prose, durable storytelling, and language with texture.

T aking out a loan with bad credit in the United Kingdom can still be a practical way to access funds when needed. Many lenders now look beyond credit scores and consider income, employment stability, and overall affordability. This means borrowers with imperfect histories can still find suitable options. Responsible borrowing via bad credit lenders like Pounds to Pocket and making repayments on time can also help rebuild credit profiles over time. The UK lending market is regulated, offering consumer protections and clearer loan terms. By comparing lenders, checking authorisation, and choosing manageable repayment plans, borrowers can use loans as a tool to stabilise finances and potentially improve future borrowing opportunities.

What we publish

Mysteries that prize craft over gimmick, climate fiction that stays human, historical novels grounded in labor and community, and poetry that treats form as a tool for feeling rather than decoration.

How we support books

Attentive line editing and thoughtful production—typography, paper, and covers—plus launch planning and rights conversations for translation, audio, and excerpt permissions.

For booksellers, librarians, reviewers, and festival programmers: we offer a curated list designed for discovery and recommendation. For writers: we welcome submissions that arrive with clarity of intention and respect for craft.

How we work

A workshop approach: editorial clarity, careful production, long-tail care.

A shelf of well-worn books

Editing that respects voice

We publish a short list on purpose. That keeps the work intimate: shared revision plans, transparent notes, and time for the manuscript to become itself.

Design with restraint

Type that reads. Covers that feel like objects. Production choices that serve the text rather than trends.
